Host-induced morphological variations in the strigeoid trematode Posthodiplostomum minimum (Trematoda: Diplostomatidae). II. Body measurements and tegument modifications
— Extensive feeding experiments were undertaken to determine if physiological host specificity was a major characteristic of Posthodiplostomum minimum. This involved the feeding of experimentally infected sunfish livers containing metacercariae of P. minimum to amphibian, reptilian, avian and mammalian hosts. Host-induced morphological variations of adult P. minimum were shown to be associated ...
متن کاملPlanorbid snails as potential molluscan intermediate host of a human intestinal fluke, Neodiplostomum seoulensis (Trematoda : Diplostomatidae) in Korea.
Three species of the pulmonate snails of the family Planorbidae have been reported from Korea; Gyraulus convexiusculus, Hippeutis (Helicorbis) cantori and Segmentina (Polypylis) hemisphaerula. Of these 3 species, only H. cantori is reported as the molluscan intermediate host of Neodiplostomum seoulensis, one of the important snail-borne human intestinal trematodes in Korea. However, S. hemispha...

Standard practice for the estimation of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models maintains the assumption that economic variables are properly measured by a single indicator, and that all relevant information for the estimation is summarized by a small number of data series. However, recent empirical research on factor models has shown that information contained in large data sets i...
متن کاملStatement Kate Poirier
One goal of algebraic topology is the classification of topological spaces using algebraic invariants. Certain classes of spaces admit invariants with richer algebraic structure than other classes do, so these classes lend themselves more easily to classification. For example, the homology of a topological space is an abelian group. However, if the space is a manifold then its homology has an e...
متن کاملThe Shifted Poirier-reutenauer Algebra
Based on the shifted Schensted correspondence and the shifted Knuth equivalence, a shifted analog of the Poirier-Reutenauer algebra as a higher lift of Schur’s P-functions and a right coideal subalgebra of the Poirier-Reutenauer algebra is constructed. Its close relations with the peak subalgebra and the Stembridge algebra of peak functions are also uncovered.
